DBT – Dialectical Behavior Therapy
ABH provides a DHS certified DBT program. DBT entails individual therapy and skills group therapy. DBT is typically for individuals experiencing high risk behaviors, difficulty with multiple hospitalizations, self harm, harm to others, and other behavioral concerns. Our DBT program is certified by the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services. Please see our DBT page for more information.
Necessary for conservatorship hearings, service eligibility, and treatment planning. Offered to individuals at all functional levels, evaluations typically require two separate two hour sessions with clients and a one hour interview with a care giver to provide an accurate assessment of the individuals’s cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning.
At ABH we pride ourselves on the fact that we focus on the whole person. We realize that every individual is unique. In individual therapy, we work with people who may need help identifying emotions, coping with change, dealing with grief and loss, social skills, behavior/anger management, sexuality or relationship issues amongst the many other issues that may come up in a person’s life.
At ABH we have several different groups for several different needs. We are always willing to develop new groups to fit developing needs. We offer mens support groups, Womens support groups, and social skills groups that meet weekly.
Sometimes there is a need for family or couples therapy. We provide the services needed for each individual or couple.
