Joanne has 25 years of experience in the Human Services field. Initially an ordained minister in the United
Church of Christ, she now specializes in providing psychological services to developmentally challenged and
brain injured individuals. Joanne received her Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in
Minnesota, where she also received the Pirizini Award for Academic Achievement in ethics. Joanne also
attended St. Mary's University of Minnesota where she earned her Master of Arts in Counseling and
Psychological Services.

Susan studied at U.W. Stout for her Bachelor of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation. At St. Mary's
University of Minnesota, Susan earned two Master of Arts Degrees one in Counseling and Psychological
Services, the other in Developmental Disabilities. Susan has 15 years of experience working with people
struggling with developmental challenges. The majority of her experience is working with severe behavior
problems. She has experience assisting others in managing Rule 40 programs, writing behavior management
plans, and completing behavioral and functional assessments.
Erik serves individuals, families, and couples of all ranges in development,
various cultural and economic experiences, and addresses many different concerns.
Erik is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a Master's Degree from Argosy University
- Twin Cities. His previous experience include residential care and management for
Developmentally Disabled and Mentally Ill adults, in-home family therapy and parenting skills
training, specializing in behavioral therapy with autistic children, and group facilitation for
adolescents with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
Erik strongly believes in meeting your concerns where and how you see them, and helping you
recognize your own ability to pull through to a more complete and fulfilling life.
Sue provides individual therapy, group psychotherapy, and family therapy at Advanced Behavioral Health.
Sue obtained a Master's Degree in Human Development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, and has been
counseling college students with disabilities since 1988. She earned a Post Masters Certificate and is a
Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, also from St. Mary’s Univerity. In 1991, Sue created the
College Success Seminar, a specialized transition course for students with disabilities. In 1999, she published
her first comprehensive transition curriculum for college and college-bound students with disabilities,
“The Cruise to College Success.”
Dr. Bakke's psychology and behavior analysis career began in 1974, working in residential, clinic, hospital,
nursing home and university settings. Bruce joined ABH in 2007 to help serve the mental health needs of the
developmental disabilities community. He provides individual, group and family therapy and psychological
testing to adults - including people with autism, dementia and severe/profound mental retardation. Bruce
values the input of all members of the treatment team: families, staff, professionals and especially the
